This Is a Real Case of Attempted Censorship

DEMOCRAT Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia is calling for MTV to cancel "Buckwild," the replacement for "The Jersey Shore." "Buckwild" follows the antics of teenage West Virginians.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) is demanding that MTV cancel its Jersey-Shore-goes-to-Appalachia reality show “Buckwild” calling it an ugly stereotype and an insult to his West Virginia constituents.

Manchin called on MTV to “stop to the travesty” in a letter Friday to the company’s president, Stephen Friedman, describing the program as a repulsive business venture that profits off the “poor decisions of our youth.”

“Instead of showcasing the beauty of our people and our state, you preyed on young people, coaxed them into displaying shameful behavior – and now you are profiting from it. That is just wrong,” Manchin said.

The new series debuts Jan. 3 and features a cast of squirrel hunting, mud racing, 20-something hillbillies gone wild performing in scripted “reality” situations.

Manchin is very clearly violating the First Amendment by asking MTV to cancel the show.
